Cartridge Big Stretch
That's right! We've made the Big Stretch you love even better! How is it possible to improve Big Stretch?

Check it out!
  • Superb paintability - we've virtually eliminated any paint sheen
  • Lighter weight, smoother gunning formula - reduces applicator fatigue
  • Reduced odor
  • Easier tooling for labor savings
  • Improved early rain resistance - fewer washouts
  • New and improved packaging that includes graphics and Spanish instructions

But don't worry! You can still count on the same exceptional Big Stretch performance you know and trust. Now more than ever, Big Stretch is one habit it pays to get hooked on!
About Big Stretch

• Water-based - easy to tool and clean up
• Stretches and compresses - won't crack
• Spans gaps up to 2" wide with no slump
• Powerful adhesion - won't tear or pull away

Cure time
All water-cleanup caulks cure by water evaporation. Cure is greatly slowed down by these weather conditions: combinations of low temperature (40 F or lower), humidity of 50% or more, no direct sunlight, and large bead size (over 1/2"). Big Stretch has resistance to rain washout after application sooner than most water-cleanup caulks, yet some general precautions should be taken. Allow 1-3 day's cure before exposure to direct rainfall. Use a plastic sheet to protect if rain is expected sooner, making sure there is good airflow between the sheet and Big Stretch to help curing. In severe weather conditions, as described above, longer cure time will be needed (2 weeks or more!) before rain resistance is achieved.

Where to use Big Stretch:
Big Stretch is perfect for many interior and exterior applications, including: windows, doors, siding, vents, soffits, eaves, and baseboards. It is also good for crown molding and sound proofing interior walls.

Where not to use Big Stretch:
Big Stretch should not be used or specified in areas of water submersion, where frequent or prolonged puddling occurs, or in areas of high foot or vehicle traffic (i.e., swimming pools, tubs, showers, sidewalks, driveways, highways, and patios). Not for use on roofs, where prolonged dampness or possible submersion may inhibit curing.

All Homes Move

The window frame moves away from the siding or the door shifts against the brick. They move when the temperature changes, the wind blows, or the ground swells. Sometimes they move a little and sometimes they move a lot.

Most caulks can't take it. They dry hard and crack out. That's why you'll love Big Stretch.

It has powerful adhesion but stays elastic and rubbery. Big Stretch will twist, bend, stretch over gaps up to 2" wide, or compress to absorb just about any movement a home can dish out.

Applying Big Stretch:
  1. Cut spout at an angle to desired opening size
  2. Use a caulk gun. Apply to surfaces between 40° F and 120° F. For best results, apply to dry surfaces free of oil, frost, dirt, and loose material.
  3. Smooth to a perfect bead with a wet sponge, or finger.
  4. Allow 24 hours before exposure to water (2-3 days in cold or humid weather).
Tip: If rain is expected within 24 hours, cover unprotected areas with plastic sheeting.
